Genesis Preschool

Our Philosophy

To provide a safe and nurturing environment for children. To foster children’s natural love of learning in an atmosphere that promotes social, physical, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive development of a young child. Also providing group experiences which contribute to the well rounded development of children. Our program is based on developmentally appropriate curriculum where learning takes place through active exploration.

The Genesis Preschool program operates under the policies established by the constitution and by-laws of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Enrollment is open to children of all faiths, races, and ethnics origins.

Our History

Genesis Preschool started out of an idea that grew from a program called Mom’s Morning Out. That idea took flight with the help of some very inspired people that believed there was a need in the community and St. John’s could meet that need. A committee was formed and meetings were held. It was presented to the church council and then the congregation. That was 1998.

Our very first class only had 10 students. The next year we had 22 students. In our fourth year we added a Pre-K class and our fifth year we moved to where we are currently located. Being owned and operated by a church allows us to teach the children about God and how much God loves them. Jesus loves the little children and so does St. John’s Lutheran Church!

Our Curriculum

Every child is looked upon as a special gift from God. Each child is encouraged to actively participate in all aspects of our program. Such activities include: arts & crafts, music & movement, learning games, physical play to enhance large and small muscle movement, social play, cooking, nutritional snacks, creative fun, library time, as well as field trips and many more activities both planned and spontaneous. Every activity is taught by our certified teaching staff.

Our Educational Format

Our program is based on a developmental curriculum where learning takes place through active exploration and interaction with adults, other children, and instructional materials.
