Our Philosophy
To provide a safe and nurturing environment for children. To foster children's natural love of learning in an atmosphere that promotes social, physical, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive development of a young child. Also providing group experiences which contribute to the well rounded development of children. Our program is based on developmentally appropriate curriculum where learning takes place through active exploration.
The Genesis preschool program operates under the policies established by the constitution and by-laws of St. John's Lutheran church. Enrollment is open to children of all faiths, races, and ethnic origins.
Our Curriculum/Educational Format
Every
child is looked upon as a special gift from God. Here at Genesis, our teachers
and assistants provide safe and developmentally appropriate environments that
encourage children to explore and discover. Social, emotional and spiritual development
occurs as children are loved and guided by adult role models (staff) and
interact with other children within the classroom. Research has proven that
young children learn best when they can be actively involved in the learning
process. Our curriculum includes weekly/monthly study topics, where children
can dig in and explore, using their senses to learn. Small and Large group
activities as well as one-on-one time with the teacher, promote growth in all
areas of development, including social/emotional, fine and large motor,
language, cognitive, music and movement and art.

Our History
Genesis Preschool started out of an idea that grew from a program called Mom’s Morning Out. That idea took flight with the help of some very inspired people that believed there was a need in the community and St. John’s could meet that need. A committee was formed and meetings were held. It was presented to the church council and then the congregation. That was 1998.
Our very first class only had 10 students. The next year we had 22 students. In our fourth year we added a Pre-K class and our fifth year we moved to where we are currently located. Being owned and operated by a church allows us to teach the children about God and how much God loves them. Jesus loves the little children and so does St. John’s Lutheran Church!
Staff
*Our teachers all have degrees and experience in the field of early childhood.
*All staff are certified in first aid, CPR and AED administration.
*All staff have all state mandated clearances.
*The safety of your children is very important to us. All the outside doors of the entire building are locked at all times, with the exception of the main preschool entrance. This door is set to a timer which allows an opening for a few minutes at drop off and pick up time. Anyone coming before or after this time, can ring the bell at the Church office door.
